Born to a Japanese female parent in China equally Xiao Qiao (筱喬) after the Second Sino-Japanese state of war, Makoto and her mother went to Sotenbori 2 years before the events of Yakuza 0 to search for her blood brother. Makoto waits in the park until Akira Nishikiyama comes to get her and brings her to see her brother, Tachibana. By the time she arrives, he'southward already expressionless, having been hit in the head by a sledgehammer before Kiryu was able to relieve him.
